Testament Tuesday – God Will Always Provide
I struggle with worry. I am fully aware that I have the tendency to worry about so many things and it’s totally unnecessary. And I’m sure I’m not alone. I sit and worry about all of the “what if’s” in life and often times I straight up miss out on what’s ACTUALLY happening around me.
Have you ever felt that way? Or maybe like me, you feel that way right now. There are some days when I feel like all of my hard work is just wasted, and I’m left wondering what I’m going to do next. How will things ever be the same? But then I have to take a step back and remind myself that I’ve made it to today. I’ve survived all of the “what ifs” and trials that have ever happened to me! And whether I want to admit it or not, all of the things I’ve made it through were all because of God. They were all a part of His constant blessing over my life.
One of my favorite bible versus to turn to in times of worry is Matthew 6:26-27. It states:
“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
Aren’t we more valuable than birds? Don’t we have more promises given to us through His word than the birds do? You bet we do, and yet you never see a bird worrying about what’s coming next. Instead we see them wake up every morning and sing away happy as can be. So, shouldn’t we be doing the same? I mean it’s very clearly stated that if God will take care of the birds, don’t you think He will do the same (and MORE) for us?
Jesus says we are valuable, we are priceless. He says that God will always make a way for us, and the worrying we do in the meantime? It serves us no purpose.
Why do we dread what might happen? Why do we worry about things we cannot control? Why can’t we just trust the one who IS in control?
I humbly ask God each morning to provide what I need for TODAY. I trust that God will never leave me nor forsake me. That He will always make a way for me. I mean He has this far, right? He has continually been faithful, and I have no reason to believe He will ever stop. Just as He provides what the birds need for their days, He will do the same for me.
So, let us stop worrying about tomorrow and just do what we can do for today. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
Give God your attention today. Don’t let the devil entertain you with the worries of tomorrow. Trust that whatever comes tomorrow, God’s got it covered.
