Testament Tuesday – Movement of Faith
Do you believe that our God is a healer, redeemer, and restorer? I do. I’ve felt first-hand the healing and restoring power of our good and gracious God. Anytime I find myself losing something, whether that be our first baby, hours at work, money in our savings, or whatever, I have seen countless times where God has restored everything we lost in full. He answers our requests for healing and restoration, but do you believe that? He will heal you, He will restore that which has been broken, and He will redeem that which has seemed too far gone and beyond hope. He will, and He is.
Often times we don’t see the good work that He is doing. He is doing work we can’t even fathom every day of our lives. And just like we can’t see God, yet we believe in Him, we can’t see the good work that He is doing for us, but we can believe that it’s true.
Jeremiah 17:14 says, “Oh Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!”
Then later in Jeremiah 30 God answers by saying “‘But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds’, declares the Lord.”
So as you can see this isn’t a question of IF He will because He is saying right here that He absolutely will! He will provide, He will guide, He will make a way!
But we don’t know when or how He’s going to do that, and that’s when doubt creeps in. When we doubt that He will step in and make a way for us we limit His power to do things His way.
Yes, God is a healer, but it may not be in the way you think it should be. It’s when He answers our prayers in ways other than our ways that we have to have enough faith in Him and follow.
We need to stop limiting God in how He works. It might not be in the ways we expect Him to work, but we know it’ll happen. We know He is a healer and a restorer. We can’t predict how and when He’s going to work, but we must trust that HE IS WORKING.
He’s working right now. He is doing what only He can do. He is moving mountains we don’t even know exist. He is making ways where we say no way. He’s doing it!
It’s time to decide to stop limiting God’s power in our lives. It’s time to trust that He will work in his own miraculous way, if we get out of the way. And trust me, we probably won’t understand it now but one day we will be amazed at all He did for us.
There is no truer act of obedience in Christ than praising Him while in trials. Praising Him in the wait. But it takes a movement of faith. Will we take that movement of faith today? The movement of faith called praise when the problem is so real it’s suffocating. Will we praise God for what He is doing while we still don’t know what He’s doing? Will we praise Him for all He is doing that we just don’t understand?
This is our movement of faith, and God responds here.
