Testament Tuesday – Peace & Confidence

If you’re reading this then you, like me, have been blessed with a new day. A day that should begin with peace and confidence. In Mark chapter 4, Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves by saying “peace, be still.” The waves obeyed. Other moments throughout the bible He tells His followers “peace I leave you, my peace I give you”, and their filled with this supernatural peace. That’s Jesus’ power of peace when it simply doesn’t make sense to have it.

I don’t know if you’re like me, but most likely you too are going through a storm. And it’s hard to know if Jesus will calm that storm, or our minds, but I do know that He will offer us peace. I know that we can wake up each morning and be confident in knowing that He sees every detail of our lives and He is working all things together for our good. It’s not necessary for us to worry, though we always do. It’s not necessary for us to have all of these anxious thoughts, though they overtake our days. This is the day the LORD has made, and He made is for us.

I don’t know what the day may hold, but I always know who holds my days. That’s where I find my peace, my confidence, my truth. On the days (which is every day) where the devil wants to whisper reminders of what could have been, what used to be, that’s when I remind myself that’s not who I am anymore. That’s not who God created me to be, and that’s why it didn’t happen. Jesus paid a high price for my peace, and it won’t be taken away from me.

Let your peace and spirits be lifted every day knowing that God is doing a good work in and through you, and it’s not done yet. Every single day that we wake up we are one step closer to becoming who we are created to be. Finding peace with this process is huge.

Phillipians 1:6 says “Be confident of this, he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

This day is full of invitations from God, invitations for new beginnings, new dreams, for peace. Make something of that, choose peace and see His work in everything. Find peace and confidence in God’s plans for you and your life, it’ll make all the difference. Know that God will always finish what He started in and through you. It may not always look how we think it should look but have peace and confidence in knowing it’s exactly what HE wants for us.
