Testament Tuesday -- The Nature of God
Who is God? People have been asking this question for ages. Many wonder if He’s really out there, if He truly made the world and everything in it. Maybe you’re to the point in your spiritual journey where you’ve gotten past those underlying questions but are still feeling like you don’t truly know Him. You don’t understand His nature, and in this you’re not alone.
While it’s true that there will be things about God that we will never know, there is so many things we can and do know! For example, when we look at our amazing Universe, we know that it was designed with incredible order and beauty. That every small and intricate detail was crafted for a purpose. That means that God, the designer himself, is a being of great order, beauty, and power!
When we look at ourselves and see just how much of a miracle, we are we know that God is amazing. Every time we think about Him and His wonderful nature, we are only drawing closer to Him. God is more than a symbol. He is a very real and divine spirit. He is a being who has always existed in the past, continues to exist now, and will always exist in the future. God is personal. He is ever involved in our world and our lives.
He is constantly revealing His true nature to us, all we have to do is stop, look, and listen.
How can we find the Nature of God in the small stuff in life?
· When we talk to God, He already knows what’s in our hearts, so be true to your thoughts
· Remember that God values you for who you are, not what you do in life
· Having true faith involves doing all that you can, but giving the rest to God
· God will never put you through a trial without a bigger purpose
· When God speaks, listen
God is just.
God is love.
God is everywhere.
“Do you no know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”
– Isaiah 40:28
