Testament Tuesday – When God Speaks

Have you ever felt like you hear God speak to you in one way or another and just weren’t quite sure? I’m willing to bet that most of us feel that way. God is constantly nudging us in ways we probably will never know. He is always leading us to some destination, and that destination is always good. ALWAYS.

I know, I know, some will absolutely argue with that statement. Because sometimes it doesn’t look good to us. Sometimes the destination we are led to is downright awful. But here’s the deal, although we are promised a divine provision for our lives, we may not always like the process or the destination. The journey to our destiny is hard, it’s often uncertain, and sometimes it’s scary.

But it’s in these moments of hardships, uncertainties, and fearful times that we are truly molded into who we are supposed to be. Who God has created us to be and where He wants us to go. Trust me when I prayed to God every day of my 11-week pregnancy for a healthy baby and for God to take away any illnesses I never expected Him to take away my baby. Did my prayers get answered? Yes absolutely. Was it how I wanted them to be answered? NO WAY. My destination wasn’t God’s destination. My ways were not His ways.

There were so many days during my miscarriage that I wanted to quit. I mean I straight up begged God to make it all be over. But it wasn’t time yet. I was on a journey. God had a plan for me and a destination in mind, and the whole time all I wanted to do was quit. I could only see the now – the pain, loss, and sadness.

If I would have quit on God’s plan I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t have stepped out of my comfort zone to start this blog. I won’t understand the why of God’s plans until we meet in Heaven, and I’m not supposed to. But I do know that if I would have kept fighting God to get me out of the pain I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today.

So let me ask you this… What if that big scary thing you’re facing in your life is actually God’s provision for you?? What if it’s His way of providing a better life, a greater purpose?

We may not see it now, but we will on the other side. We will be so amazed at how good things turned out when we don’t give up. I’m still waiting, I know I can’t see all of the goodness God has provided in this, but I will.

Today you just want out. You don’t want to keep going through it because it’s painful. But hear this, the process isn’t always pretty but it’s SO worth it. It’s constantly making us into the people we are created to be. No matter how bad you want out right now trust that God knows what he is doing. He is always taking us somewhere, with a beautiful destination in mind.

Trust in His provision, even when it’s hard, uncertain, or scary.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11
